The Doha Academy which is situated at Giquel Street, Eau Coulée, Curepipe operates under the aegis of the Education Trust which is registered with the Registrar of Companies in Mauritius and it runs several departments at its Complex situated at Curepipe.
Among its department is the DOHA ACADEMY OF TERTIARY STUDIES (DATS) which is operating since 2006 and is registered with the Higher Education Commission in Mauritius as a Post Secondary institution.

To offer quality education integrated in an Islamic perspective to produce quality professionals who are able to contribute to Global Prosperity.
Mission of the Doha Academy of Tertiary Studies:
To produce better quality intellectuals, professionals and scholars by integrating the qualities of faith, knowledge, and good character so as to serve as agents of comprehensive and balanced progress as well as sustainable development in Mauritius and in the Muslim world.
These goals including academic excellence, student success, community engagement, diversity, financial sustainability, and institutional reputation, among others.
The DATS signed MoU with awarding bodies like the “Khartoum International Institute of Arabic language” (Sudan) , and the “Riphah International University”, (Pakistan) and in 2019 it signed an MoA with the “International Islamic University College of Selangor” (Malaysia), renamed as Selangor Islamic University (UIS) after the upgrade of its status.
Since 2006 DATS offered undergraduate degrees in Arabic language, Islamic Studies with Arabic, Islamic Theology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and finance.
It offered post graduate degrees also in Arabic and Islamic Studies.
And offered also a Bachelor of Education (Post Degree) and a Master of Education.
About 280 graduated from DATS in the above mentioned programmes.
But DATS temporarily stopped its operation in December 2018 due to the fact that formalities of affiliation with our new awarding body in Malaysia took quite a long time and the new MoA was signed in September 2019 and courses started in 2020.
DATS is actually offering 2 programmes namely BA (Hons) in Arabic as a second language and BA (Hons) Usuluddin (Islamic Studies) with Multimedia.
The syllabi, the final exams and the certificates are all from the SELANGOR ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA (UIS).
The first batch of BA (Hons) in Arabic as a second language has been graduated in December 2023.
